We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Reneé and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Angela, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Pursuing an artistic/creative business stems from my early childhood. I’ve always been crafty. Creating something from nothing. When I was a child I use to make Barbie clothes from scraps so the creativity comes natural. Beauty has always been my niche. I graduated High School with my Cosmetology License. Make Up is an art, an expression and I love seeing the extra confidence in the clients I service.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m excited about where my business is going, it’s been a long road of ups and downs. Entrepreneurship is not for the weak. The one thing that kept me going is the passion I have not just makeup but bringing a sense of confidence to one that may lack it. I’ve learned that many may not believe in you but you have to believe in yourself. If you get knocked down, you better get back up. The world needs to know I’m here for more than just making up a face, my purpose is deeper than that 😉
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is good!!! I would take them to Lost & Found for brunch (the food is delicious). We would go GoKarting downtown with Glyderz World. (The most fun ever) Let’s not forget Houston Bike Bar. We’d do a bit of bar hopping to Amahle and Belle Station.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wouldn’t be where I am right now if it wasn’t for my mom and her encouragement and support, my children because I do this for them. Last but not least my close friends and many strangers along the way.
