Meet Annette Palmer

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Annette Palmer again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.
Annette, thanks for joining us again. Just to level set a bit for folks who may have missed our last interview together, can you briefly introduce yourself?
I am a Houston based artist, my paintings of land and sea scapes contain elements of texture, collage and fragments of metal leaf. These paintings feel like home and are inspired by both Texas, and Scotland. My work brings memories to life, it’s where distance meets connection.
Over the past year I have been excited to participate in many group shows, including The Big Show at Lawndale Arts Center, Art Museum TX, and The Visual Arts Alliance. I have also presented my solo exhibition, “Across The Pond” at The Woodlands Arts Council Gallery Space. I enjoyed co-curating the recent “Sources of Light” exhibition at Sawyer Yards.
I have previously curated for art galleries in both Houston and The Woodlands, am a published arts writer and have also served as a juror for numerous art competitions.

Awesome, so we reached out because we wanted to hear all about what you have been up to since we last connected.
Last year I opened my own studio/gallery space at Winter Street Studios in Houston! I love the community and creative energy of the location, and it’s great to have my own space to meet with clients and collectors. Studio C145 is where you will find me every Second Saturday and other dates available via my newsletter, which you can sign up for on my website – www.annettepalmerart.com.

We also want to give folks a chance to get to know you a bit better so we’ve prepared a fun lightning round of questions. Ready?
