We had the good fortune of connecting with April Elliott and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi April, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I believe whole heartedly in being the change you want to see. Starting my brand was just that. I was unfulfilled and honestly needed a creative outlet. Fashion was my choice. ❤️
 

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
April is a self taught seamstress who loves creating reasons for the development of happiness in all forms. She’s currently doing that through brands she and her husband share. She is the CEO of Autonomy, where she creates handcrafted fashion; ranging from formal wear, custom design, head wraps, and costume design. She also wears the title of cofounder to the faith based street wear line, Blacksheep Collective. Her responsibilities for Blacksheep Collective are project management, fulfillment and customer success. She is passionate about creating ways to enhance consumer experience. She enjoys collaborating to bring visions to reality. April is a forever student and loves to learn something new daily. She is continuously sharpening her skills. When she’s not creating art she’s creating memories with her husband, 3 energetic ever changing sons, and nurturing her extensive plant collection.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Fountain square! I would take them on an adventure of food, fun, and laughter. I honestly love a good walk, food of all kinds, drinks and music. Fountain square has all of my favorite things also it’s a good representation of the city.
