We had the good fortune of connecting with Louis Lopez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Louis, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Well it was almost like I forced to do it in a way aka fate 🙏🏻 A little background story I was once working at a long established salon In Houston when the landlords of the building decided to turn it to a hotel, I came to a crossroads do I look for another salon Or choose one in the area? Mind you at that time I was always told when you make a move salon wise not to go past 5 miles and the selection was slim…. I mean slim! there was a salon semi close by that didn’t carry the color line I used and I decided to see if they would rent me a chair. Thank goodness they did and I decided to take a leap of faith and go for it! I am so glad I did, I learned so much about myself and running a business. It was great first step. I will never forget them for allowing my to do that plus I know nothing in life is easy if you want it you gotta step out of your comfort zone and did I. ( I am a introvert by nature ) 😬 so that was a huge step for me .Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have two separate ig accounts @louislopez07 and @louis_corehair 07, focuses on my true passion and I’ll call it my number one hobby and that’s session work . I love session work to work with a group of like minded Individuals that push each other to create a story , mood , and just art! hair is my canvas and I love to shape mold and creative new worlds out of it. And core hair is my day job , also my passion where I get to put my personal stamp and mark on a client a walking buildboard I love making a client feel their best.If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If we we’re not in COVID situation I’m really a chill person so a local brewery is what I would do and show them the truck yard, gingerman, and any I mean any place with a patio but I’ll just watch 🥴 since I don’t really drink 😂, but wanna talk about food I got you 😉 mom and pop restaurants , hole in the walls are my favorite and My palette is open to try new things and I love all foods especially Indian cuisine and Vietnamese food and Tex mexWho else deserves some credit and recognition?
There is a bunch of people that I want to give a shout out to that have helped me move along in my career a lot of them are hairdressers and summer photographers and some are just friends and family. Bea Valdez – hairstylist my first mentor and B.I.G. adopted sister for life Shreeda Taylor – coworker at Kalideo salon my rock 🪨 Liz haven- for being a constant Motivation to be in the best that I can be And hairmastered for pushing my out of my comfort zone . I’m a true introvert so talking about me is a little strange 🥴 but I’m to be open a free in this process.
