Meet Arabella Remy | Lead Creative and Photographer of Great Scenes Creative

We had the good fortune of connecting with Arabella Remy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Arabella, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my career is God. God is at the forefront and center of my business. One of the primary reasons I even started Great Scenes Creative was to be in a place where I could do more for the advancement of the Kingdom. Matthew 6:33 says, ” Seek first the Kingdom of God and all other things will be added unto you.” My business is not just a personal thing for me, it’s a God thing. As I focus on being able to sow back into the Kingdom and letting that be my driving force, God turns around and gives me an abundance of clients and new opportunities, which allows me to have the other desires of my heart. With God on my side, I don’t worry for long because I can pull on Him in all kinds of ways. For example, when I’m feeling uncreative (hope that’s a word) I pull on the Holy Spirit, which is power from God that enables us to do any and everything.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Great Scenes Creative is a creative design and consulting company headquartered in Houston, TX, that desires to bring your personal brand and business to life through creative ideas and visuals. We specialize in photography, graphic designs, websites, and social media management.

I am most proud of the fact that I just even started GSC to begin with because a lot of times for some of us ideas never make it to the stage where we bring them to life. So I’m glad I can sit here a year a half later and say I have brought it to life. Even though it’s still fresh, it’s growing and I love that.

A very important lesson I’ve had to learn was to know your worth and stand by it. If you know where your skill-sets are in terms of what you offer and how much you should be compensated for it, don’t let the outside voices make you second guess yourself. If people find value in what you offer, they will work with you.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Wow, this is such an interesting question because I’m such an itinerary person! Let’s say my best friend was in town from Sunday – Saturday. Sunday we’re going to church at The R.O.C.K. (9321 Edgebrook Dr.) for a powerful word and worship service. Then we would have lunch at Green Seed Vegan in Third ward. After that, head to discovery green and just walk around. Throughout the week we would visit the Houston Zoo (lovvveeee the zoo), go strawberry picking and walk through sunflower fields at Froberg Farms if they’re in season, State of Mind Texas (Vegan Nights), Axelrad for a movie night and chill out in hammocks, Houston Rockets Game at the Toyota Center (if its basketball season), The Color Factory, and for food some of my vegan favorites are Korny Vibes and Lindianas Vegan Soulfood.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are a few people and groups that I want to dedicate this shout-out to. First, my pastor, Apostle Dr. Dana Carson, because of his leadership and the things that he instills in us, I was able to even see myself owning a business. Early last year we had a leadership retreat that really challenges us to see past where we are currently and lay out goals for our decade of champions. Great Scenes Creative is and was a goal. Second, my mentor, Nekeisha Girdy who for the last 4-5 years has constantly been a driving force of encouragement in my life. Third, my mom (mummy), Elina who always wanted her kids to have more than she did which is why she worked her butt off and always encouraged us to strive for the stars. Fourth for the people that trusted me with little projects here and there before I was even official and still developing my skill sets. Last, to my friends and main supporters, thank you… so many to name, you all know who you are.
