Meet Arionne Thomas | The One Stop Shop Hair Connoisseur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Arionne Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Arionne, we’d love to hear about a book that’s had an impact on you.
One of my all-time favorite books is the “48 Laws of Power” by Robert Greene. Honestly, anything by him is amazing in my personal opinion but this one definitely stuck with me. I got this book from my dad who gave it to me in my sophomore year. The book is basically about how to get the things you want out of life. It gives you tips and “laws” on ways you can truly speak things into existence and how to surpass others without deceiving. I’m a person who believes what you give to the universe is what you will get back and this book just put the cherry on top !

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
One thing I can 100 percent say I’m proud about is my resilience. Being a business owner is never easy no matter the field or position you’re in but never giving up is when you will start to see the most progress. Growing up I was always doing something involving beauty. I was the girl that would get kicked out of class for doing someone’s hair but if you would’ve told me 3 years ago that I’d be a hair stylist I’d probably laugh in your face. I went to school for pharmacy and actually had plans of opening my own pharmacy, but it never really just felt right. Doing hair is something I truly enjoy; I love seeing that radiant smile once I finish a style. Praying all the time and being grateful for what I already have and what I will have in the future is what keeps me grounded. “If you’re doing what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.” I have always hated working for someone else so that, plus the love of doing hair has created a small business that allows me to express myself doing what I love the most!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One thing that I can say Houston is great for is the tourist attractions! My cousin is coming to Houston from Louisiana, and I have EVERYTHING planned for us. I love brunch, my favorite spots to go to are Dish Society, Kamp Houston, Jupiter’s, and Kiss. I love getting dressed up and doing my hair and just feeling pretty and getting day drunk just puts the cherry on top. I also would like to take her to this man-made beach called “Lagoon Fest”. It’s so beautiful, the water is such a pretty blue tint color, and it feels so refreshing to be in. They have a bar on the water, a swing over that goes over the water and it just really feels like a small getaway not too far from home.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout hands down goes to my boyfriend and my dad but MOST importantly my amazing grandfather. Without these 3 men, I honestly do not know where I would be in regard to my small business. Not only do these men support me financially but the love, the motivation, and the late nights trying to perfect flyers and certain styles and business pages never cease. I have a group chat with my dad and siblings and every morning my dad sends us motivational messages, prayers, and love to start our day. My boyfriend NEVER lets me take a day off. We’re in “grind mode” and sleep is for the rich! My grandfather prays for me daily and is always there for me no matter the time of day, even if its 3 am and I’m texting him about what color I should dye my hair. My entire family is always supportive of my dreams and decisions, but these men SURPASS that. To them, when it comes to me, the sky isn’t even the limit!
