We had the good fortune of connecting with Arkail Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Arkail, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Honestly, I’ve been ambitious from a very young age. It started with this fire inside that I just couldn’t ignore. I’ve always believed that if the space you want doesn’t exist, you create it! Where others may see an oversaturated market, I saw gaps in places where voices like mine, visions like mine, and solutions like mine were missing. I have always been passionate about beauty, skin care, and inspiring others. As someone who has struggled with extremely stubborn acne, creating products that are naturally derived and actually work was like a calling for me. I am also a consultant, who helps others structure their business, increase their revenue, and receive funding. I’ve always been a solution oriented person.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I like to call myself the “Jill of all trades”. I am a multi faceted person and sometimes I love the thrill of having a lot going on. I am a content creator, makeup artist, business owner/consultant, model, and more. I dabble in a lot of things because my happy place is when I am creating. Whether it’s helping others take their business to the next level, making up faces, posing in front of a camera, recording and posting my everyday life Vlogs on Youtube, or being the ‘SHE-EO’ of my Business. Honestly, all these things come naturally to me and I seem to thrive mentally when I am involved in activities that produce results. I have a Bachelor of Science in Business, I’m a licensed Insurance Producer, a Youtube Partner, and I have helped many people increase their finances. I think that’s what matters most; being an asset and to help shape lives positively. However, accomplishments may sound great, but becoming “Her” is not easy. Transitioning into an adult, college, and figuring out what path to take was not a walk in the park. I would always say, “if it were easy everyone would do it” and “anything worth having is worth fighting for”. You have to think about your future prosperity in trying times. I work everyday to be the person I’ve always dreamed of, or to be better than who I was yesterday. With this, inch by inch, I will reach all of my goals. I would like for others who aspire to do more, or be more to know that it’s important to keep going, believe in yourself, and to give yourself grace.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would first start with some light body work. I recently discovered a Yoga instructor who has just opened her very own studio called Blossom & Sol. I am super excited about trying this place out. Then we would stop for Brunch at Grace’s. The food is amazing and the service is top tier! For the ambience and drinks, we would stop by Tago Restaurant after eating brunch. Mid day creative crave, we would visit The Museum of Fine Arts. Later for dinner we would most definitely make that drive to Katy, Texas for Pearl and Vine. I am obsessed with this place. The ambience, service, and food, 10/10! For a night cap/bar/lounge vibe I’d say Nomad Reserve. For adventure and fun, we would go ATV riding and to Go Ape adventure park. I also cannot forget one of my guilty pleasures, CHIP Cookies. I honestly need to be banned from that place. They have the most delectable sweets.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
One of the most influential figures that has helped shape my thinking and confidence in adulthood is Les Brown. Les Brown is one of the world’s most renowned motivational speakers. He has a brilliant way of speaking to one’s inner Queen or King and waking up what is sleeping within you. I find myself recollecting on quotes from some of his earlier work that I stumbled upon years ago, still to this day. It just sticks with you! However, one of the very first and most important voice in my story was my late grandmother, Maple Martin. She was a pillar in my life. She taught me peace, love, and to never give up on what I desire. She would check on me often. I would call her when I was ready to let go of my college experience and “try a different route” she would tell me “you’ve got to finish school” and to know that it was deeper than school, but advice to always preserve when things or life becomes difficult. Having someone in your corner believing that you can do something, was all the inspiration I needed. Everyone deserves a Maple Martin in their life.
