We had the good fortune of connecting with Iyanna Goodall and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Iyanna, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my Success is to never lose sight of what’s important and that is to always be a servant to others! My success is not only my success, it is driven by the improvement of the dancers that I teach and choreograph for. The success of my brand is driven by the word of God, which I believe is the reason why I am so blessed with the opportunities that I’ve had this far. “The Lord is my strength and he will make my feet like Hinds’ feet, and he will make me walk upon mine high places.” Habakkuk 3:19 KJV. I implemented this Bible scripture into my business because it’s important to me to not only serve others but lead and teach them the things that I know about God’s love and Dance.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a dancer and freelance choreographer. I dance all throughout Highschool at Klein High school, I have also danced for Trinity Valley Community College as a TVCC Cardette. I now currently dance for Lamar University Dance Team. I think that my ability to make all dancers feel comfortable during class helps build their confidence and instill effective dance techniques into their general danceability. After years of being on dance teams, I decided to not wait until I graduated from school to start my dance business! why wait! Although I have been hitting the ground running with many different choreography bookings, it was not easy! I ultimately had to truly understand the importance of being persistent with a business and gain a lot of confidence in myself. I learned along the way that even if no one else believes in me to believe in myself and listen to God’s word even in the midst of the fog.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The city of Houston is ultimately the best! I don’t care where life takes me in the future, there is no place like home. Going out to eat Food is my favorite type. Some of my favorite places to eat are chick n Cone, Smash Burger, Turkey Leg Hut, and the Breakfast Klub just to name a few. Some fun things that I like to do are go skating sometimes, and one of my favorite places is Diry Ashford. If you are going to go make sure that you are in the building on Thursdays!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give thanks to my parents first and foremost for all of their love and support since my passion for dance began. I would also like to thank all of the Dance directors that have helped mold me into the dancer I am today. Thank you all for being great role models.
