Hi Ashley & Jeanetta, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk by definition is any situation that exposes you to danger, harm, or the potential to lose something, and it’s something that Netta and I know very well. Understand that we were never handed anything, sometimes we didn’t even receive the support that we desired. Thus all of our lives, we’ve always had to take bets on ourselves, and every bet on ourself was a risk. These risks were the most pivotal and vital decisions that we’d ever made for our careers, because without taking them, we would have never been able to experience the growth and success that we’ve seen. Our willingness to lose just to be able to say that we tried, or to look foolish and even attempt the impossible because we’d rather live with failure than regret, and even our willingness to dare try in the face of fear is what got us here. If we could give any advice, it would be to not allow the noise and feelings to stop you. In the famous words of Helen Keller, “Security is mostly a superstition. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.” In this life, you have to be willing to go after what you want, because no one is just going to hand it to you. So that’s what we do, day in and day out. We create the life that we want to live and go after what our hearts desire. No matter the odds, no matter the risk, we strive.

What should our readers know about your business?
S.M.A.R.T. Vegan is an established e-commerce health and holistic company that provides herbal and dietary supplements that you can count on in your time of need. Our goal is to spread the word about the benefits of a whole food and plant based diet, educate about the body and disease, and provide the natural products that people need during their health journey. What sets us a part is the time and effort that we put into our products. Our sea moss is amongst the most authentic on the market and our formulas are based upon hours of research provided by actual scientists, medical professionals, professors, and labs here within the United States. Not only do we provide quality products, but we also provide them at affordable prices. As a brand, we are most proud of our connection and influence within our community. We have helped people from all over heal from a multitude of conditions. We also give back by providing customers with the equipment needed to create their own healthy products such as blenders, Almond Cow’s, etc. We got where we are today because of our willingness to educate and give back to our community as much as we do. Our customers truly appreciate us, and we appreciate and love them back. The research that we utilize to inform our customers and create our products is written within the same medical terminology that hinders many from studying this information themselves. Thus, nothing that we provides comes easy for us. It takes hours and sometimes days to be able to ensure that we fully comprehend the subject at hand to be able to present the information within a way that our audience will comprehend. We overcome the challenges associated with teaching and providing quality products by simply keeping one foot in front of the other. We don’t give up when things get hard, if anything, we study harder and strive more. If we wanted people to know anything about S.M.A.R.T. Vegan, we’d want them to know that S.M.A.R.T. Vegan is a brand that they can trust. Everything that we do is with your health and vitality in mind.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Houston, Texas is a busy city filled with so many different things to do. With so many fun activities, services, and food within the city, the first thing we’d do is order take out from Mornin’ Chow. They have the best vegan breakfast food that Houston has to offer. Next we’re heading over to The Evolution of Style to get our hair slayed for the gawds, and then over to 1SoundVibe Connections, the best meeting and hangout spot for business owners, artists, and creatives alike. We’d end the night with a movie because we’re simple like that.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Support has come from the strangest places for us. Our first shout out would be to our family and friends that have dedicated their time and effort into making sure that S.M.A.R.T. Vegan has the help that it needs to continue to thrive. Our next shout out goes out to the amazing Tabitha Brown, who helped spread the word about us. She believed and saw something in us, and for that we will forever be grateful for all that she is and all that she does for people like us within our community. Our next shout out goes to other amazing friends and business owners alike, such as Lafayette Taylor of 1SoundVibe Studios and Meoka McBride of Heels Out, that has loved, supported, uplifted, inspired and motivated us over the years.
