We had the good fortune of connecting with Ayreona Rucker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ayreona, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process was simple, turning something I love doing into my career. I watch makeup videos on YouTube, TikTok and instagram and the main thing that I always heard was to start my business. Iv’ve been doing makeup since 2020 when covid started.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am most proud at the fact that I can balance school, my business and my extracurricular activities. My business is my main source of income. I got to where I am by having a great support system such as my mother, grandmother and sister. The biggest challenge I had was my mental health but I overcame it not to easily with the help of my mother and my lover. I’ve learned a lot of lessons on the way one of the biggest being keep family/friends and your business separate. I want people around the world to know that my brand welcomes every one.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Me and my best friend would spend the day in northeast d.c. We would go t0 different restaurants due to the variety they have and take lots of pictures in the beautiful scenery. I love modeling ( as I am one myself ) so I would take them to a modeling show.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I dedicate my shoutout to my mother who funded my dream in full.
