We had the good fortune of connecting with Bianca Romero and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bianca, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
Finding the right balance between work and personal life can be a journey. It’s about navigating through strategies that work for me. I try to take short breaks throughout the day, setting boundaries, and making time to spend with my daughters when I get home. My work-life balance has improved over time. I’ve learned to prioritize self-care and set boundaries to make sure I have time for both work and personal life.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career as a hairstylist has been an incredible journey filled with creativity, growth, and transformation. I knew from a young age that I wanted to be a hair stylist and a salon owner one day. What sets me apart from others is my unwavering dedication to my clients and my passion for staying ahead of trends and techniques in the beauty industry.
Getting to where I am today professionally was not easy. It required a lot of hard work, continuous learning, and overcoming various challenges. There were times when I faced setbacks, but my determination and love for what I do kept me going. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned along the way is the importance of perseverance and always believing in yourself, even when things get tough. I am most proud of the moments when I see the confidence and joy in my clients’ eyes after a makeover. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that I can make a positive impact on their lives. I want the world to know that my brand is all about empowerment and self-expression. I believe that everyone deserves to feel confident and beautiful, and my mission is to help my clients achieve that. My story is one of resilience, creativity, and a deep commitment to my craft. I strive to create a welcoming and inspiring environment where my clients can feel their best and embrace their unique beauty.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting Houston for a week, I’d make sure they had an unforgettable time! We’d start with a visit to the Space Center Houston to get a taste of space exploration. For lunch, we’d hit up The Pit Room for some mouthwatering Texas BBQ. In the afternoon, we’d explore the Museum District, especially the Houston Museum of Natural Science. On day two, we’d head to the Houston Zoo in the morning and then enjoy a leisurely afternoon at Hermann Park. Dinner would be at Ninfa’s on Navigation for some of the best Tex-Mex in town. Midweek, we’d take a day trip to Galveston Island to enjoy the beach and the historic Pleasure Pier. We’d grab seafood at Gaido’s before heading back to the city.
For some shopping and entertainment, we’d spend a day at The Galleria and catch a show at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts in the evening. Dinner would be at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen for some delicious Cajun cuisine. We’d also dedicate a day to exploring the vibrant street art in the Heights and grabbing brunch at Common Bond Café & Bakery. In the evening, we’d check out some live music at The Continental Club.
To wrap up the week, we’d visit the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center for a relaxing morning hike, followed by a visit to the Buffalo Bayou Park. Dinner would be a special treat at Uchi for an amazing sushi experience. Houston is full of fun, interesting, and exciting places and people, and I’d make sure my best friend experienced the best of it all!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My former boss and friend (Simon), started Hair Revolution back in 2010. Fast forward ten years, he was ready to sell and I am most grateful for him and the opportunity of taking over the salon. My journey wouldn’t have been possible without Simon, who believed in me and offered unwavering support. His trust and guidance have been instrumental in my success.
