We had the good fortune of connecting with Boujeebaby and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi BoujeeBaby, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m from Houston, Tx, and I pretty much grew up around music. My grandparents are pastors of a local church in the city. A lot of my musical upbringing started with me singing with the adult choir at a young age at my grandparents church. I also grew up watching my cousins, who are also artists, and that too motivated me to follow my musical journey. Most importantly my dad. Most of my desire to pursue music came from watching him develop artists and that in return inspired me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a rapper, singer, and songwriter. I write all of my music, and I write everyday. I’ve been recording music since I was 8 years old. I listen and draw inspiration from various musical greats. From Sam Cooke, to James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Sade… and many more. I absolutely love the Houston culture, so of course a lot of my inspiration comes from Lil Keke, Yungstar, Lil Flip, ClChe, and I’ve been blessed to be able to have Lil Keke & Yungstar featured in one of my videos. I’ve spent a lot of time in my room listening to these legends, and they have motivated me to go after my dreams and produce music daily. Although it hasn’t always been easy with juggling school and recording, my team and I have come up with a strategic plan that allows me to do both sufficiently. I’ve learned that it takes believing in yourself and having confidence. I’ve also learned how to take constructive criticism and guidance, because in order to become successful it takes more than just myself, it requires a team. What I would like the world to know about me is that I’m passionate about my music, and my purpose is to be an inspiration to others. My first EP will be released summer 2025. In addition to my upcoming EP, I will also be launching my online stores for merch and apparel called “Rich Before 16” and “Sweet Before 16.”

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I absolutely love good food! One of my favorite places to eat is “Lost and Found” in midtown. I also love “The Breakfast Klub.” For fun and adventure I love Andretti’s in Katy, Tx. I also love getting my nails & hair done! Two of my favorite salons are “Stamped Hairtique” in Houston & “J2IG” in Pearland, Tx.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shout out to my mom & dad for instilling in me the values & importance of believing in yourself. Thank you so much to my brothers for always having my back & supporting my every move! Thank you to my grandparents for loving and supporting me throughout my entire journey. Special thank you to my aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and family that continue to share & promote my talent. Your love and support has carried me and I appreciate each and everyone of you. I would also like to thank “Topaz Monet” for seeing something in me & believing in me early on. I would like to give a huge thank you to my vocal & musical coaches from the Wright’s Music School & Touch of Keys, Eric Wright & Stephanie Wright. Your guidance means so much to me and is part of what has made me who I am today.
