We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandy Boulwen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brandy, what do you want your legacy to be?
I think it’s extremely important to know that God is my CEO. I put God above all when it comes to business. Why might you ask? Because he never fails. Simple.
What should our readers know about your business?
It’s funny that you mention being set apart. That’s my daily goal for God is to keep me different. I don’t want to look like anyone else in my industry. I want to change the narrative and shake the norm. I’m eager about being God led. I fast and pray to get success as quickly as possible. That keeps me set apart. I’m super excited about seeing my fruit. Bible says to be fruitful and multiply. I can show you bank accounts until you’re blue in the face, but my clients being successful under my leadership is where my real fruit is. This is how I measure my success. This wasn’t an easy road, but I got here by hard work and determination. When I feel overwhelmed, I take breaks and get back to it with no hesitation. Quitting is never an option. When challenges arise, I go back to why I’m doing this in the first place. I re-evaluate the calling on my life and go straight to God to put a demand on Heaven to restore me so I can aid in restoring others. Some of the lessons I’ve learned is to never let anyone project their insecurities, fears, doubts, or limiting beliefs on me. I will never take unsolicited advice from anyone especially if they’ve never done what I’m currently doing. That’s very important. It’s important to know that as a faith-based entrepreneur, the adversities will hit you a bit harder, but you have to fully trust God. The world will know, it is and was ALL GOD!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had any close friends coming to visit, I’d certainly take them to Cafe Rian located in Humble followed by a tour of the H, because I myself don’t know all Houston has to offer. We’d certainly have to try our hand at Ice Skating at the Galleria and maybe a night cap at a drive in movie theater. It’s so many things to do, I’d have to narrow down my options. I’d most definely get a list of black owned businesses to support as well. That’s a must!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My intimate circle of family & friends deserve this shoutout. They pray with and for me, encourage me, pick me up when I’m feeling worthless, and get me back on track. I give all thanks to God as well, without his vision for my life, this wouldn’t be possible.
