We had the good fortune of connecting with Brhian Mathieu and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brhian, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my business is my passion for cooking. I’ve always loved to cook, so that then became my dream that I turned into a reality “owning a food business”.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets me apart from other businesses is my passion for cooking, my presentation and preparation of Louisiana Cajun cuisines. When I step in the kitchen I tend to get very creative. I love trying new things in the kitchen and it draws a lot of attention because of the unique names that I come up with for my meals. I am most proud about finally being able to turn my dream into a reality and bringing my passion for cooking to life. I got where I am today “business wise” by putting in the hard work and never giving up on my passion. It wasn’t easy, because some days I wanted to give up, however, I’d always knew cooking was my passion and one day I’d be living my dream. Lessons I’ve learned along the way are, just stay patient, success doesn’t happen overnight, you can’t rush things. I want the world to be able to taste my food and know this didn’t happen overnight, there was a lot of hard work, sweat and tears put into this business.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting the area and I wanted to show them the best time ever, I would take them to the bowling alley. We would also go for a few fishing trips, and I would take them to eat at “Hanks Seafood” and “Steak 48”.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First, I want to thank God! Without him, none of this would be possible. Throughout the process God continued to lead the way. I also want to thank my fiancée, she always pushed me to keep going and don’t give up on my passion for cooking. My kids encouraged me along the way because they love my food lol and they are my motivation, one day they will be able to work at the family owned business. Lastly, I want to thank my Chef friend “Desean_dechef”, for assisting me.
