We had the good fortune of connecting with Britini Baker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Britini, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I believe the most important factor behind my success and brand is that I’m consistent and I put 1000% into everything that I do. This has allowed me to retain repeat clients and have several referrals. I don’t have to spend a lot of time on advertisements because of the referrals and my repeat clients. Our work speaks for itself and it is of quality. Consumers want the assurance in knowing that their money and event is in good hands.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m most proud of the events and people we have met along the way. My most proudest moment was being able to do two events for James Harden. It was through a referral! That means a lot because out of all the balloon businesses in Houston, that person had my business at the front of their mind. I truly believe I’ve made it this far by putting my faith in Jesus Christ. He has given me the gift of creativity and I’m able to show that gift through my art. I wouldn’t say it has been easy every step of the way, but it hasn’t been an overwhelming experience. Yes, there has been times where I have lost money, sleep and clients, but those losses have been gains. They have made me a better business woman. That would be the greatest lesson I could give to someone. Don’t let defeat deter you from your goals. Learn from that mistake, create a plan so that it doesn’t happen again, and push forward. With the success of Blown Away Designs, it has allowed us to start a sister craft business, “Little Craftee Things”, where we design custom t-shirts and more. The world should know that I will always have goals for my life and my brands. I’m constantly thinking about “what’s next”. I want to leave a legacy for my family and I want people to be proud that they knew me.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shout out my family and friends! Without them, there wouldn’t be Blown Away Designs. They were my first customers, my support system, my muses. They gave me opportunities to promote my business to other people who were not family nor friend. I’m grateful to them because some people don’t have that support and they have to do it on their own. My support has stood by me and never once took advantage of my business and for that, this shout out goes to them!
