We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Waterman & Rachel Hrncir and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittany Waterman & Rachel Hrncir, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We took our combined experience at a boutique brokerage and larger one to create what we think is the best of both worlds. We sought to create a real estate brokerage where are agents are supported by leadership, camaraderie and cutting edge systems to be the best agents they can be.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Steel Door Realty is unique in so many ways. We knew we wanted to create a company culture that was family oriented and fun. Being happy where you work directly translates to success, so we have organically grown in number of agents over the years and are happy with the family that has formed. It hasn’t been easy, and frankly it still isn’t, but we know that we have built something special and impactful to so many lives of our agents and clients. We work what seems like 24 hours a day 7 days a week for our clients and our agents. Real estate is an industry that never shuts off. When you are helping someone with one of the biggest decisions in their life, we have to be there for them and the transaction at all times. The “on call” all the time aspect is stressful, but you definitely get used to it! We want the world to know that if you trust an agent with Steel Door Realty we can guarantee a great experience with a job well done!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If a friend was visiting Houston, the lineup for cuisine would certainly be a cultural journey. Houston’s restaurant scene is simply phenomenal from Tex-Mex, to Thai, to Indian and all is truly authentic. In addition to eating our way through the city, the beautiful parks and trails would definitely be on the list with a few stops at dog parks along the way. If weather is not great, which is often, we would check out the Museum District stopping at as many museums as possible. Bonus if a friend comes in town during Rodeo Houston season, because that is an incredible way to experience a heartbeat of Houston that most people never get an opportunity to participate in at that caliber.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We credit the success of Steel Door Realty to so many influences in our lives. Our previous mentors who taught us so much about the industry, our families for supporting our dreams and all of the agents that have trusted our brokerage with their careers and truly made it the work family we enjoy everyday.
