We had the good fortune of connecting with Caitelyn Canals and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Caitelyn, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When creating Spiritual Nerdz Events and Car Meets, I wanted to make the focus all about creating great experiences for local businesses. I wanted to be able to create markets and car meets to highlight vendors and at the same time create free events for people to attend from all over Houston and Austin, Texas!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Spiritual Nerdz Events and Car Meets hosts: farmers markets, promotional pop ups, and car meets in the Houston and Austin, Tx.

We are extremely humble and proud of the hard work we have put into our events and we value the input from all participants from vendors, to volunteers, and event attendees or local groups who have contributed to any event we have hosted!

We value our commitment to the vision we have built our brand on, which is to contribute to highlighting small businesses and charities in our communities as well! We don’t just want small businesses to grow, we want to make a difference as well. We have partnered with organizations before and held charity events and will continue to do so in 2024 and so forth.

This journey has not been easy, it has been hard however the dedication we have to keep going is when we see vendors now being able to go from markets to stand alone buildings, restaurants and growing their businesses to new heights after continuously attending our events. We hope to see many more grow in the future!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There is a lot of places we definitely recommend! Here are a few that we feel will definitely give you a kickback relax type of vibe.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give a personal thank you to my marketing team who helps me gather vendors, and get insight with venues to help make this all happen: Carrisen C., Erika R., Chelsea H. and Issac R.! Of course I’d want to keep in mind, with each business that attends our events and the amazing venues that have granted us the opportunity in working with them to bring to you our markets and car meets! Without them, our events would not happen and we would not have come so far, thanks to all!
