We had the good fortune of connecting with Camille Ware – Blouin (Lady Cam) and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Camille, how do you think about risk?
Risk taking is very important in life/career. If I had not taken risk I would still be unknown or probably given up a long time ago. There is a quote “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.” this is so true. I am a risk taker by sign “Leo” and that’s just my personality, sometimes I don’t even have to think twice about it I just go. I remember starting out my career in music I was taking risk all the time and didn’t notice it. It wasn’t until I got older and tried to “play it safe”. Then I looked back at how I use to move around and thought to myself why switch it up now if taking risk was how I started. I would save up money and just leave the state and move to another state and start networking, sometimes living in my car. There were times were I made money off of my services, video production, promoting others ect to make ends meet just so I have enough time to put in my craft so I can do it for a living. Faith without works is dead. At times we like to wait on God to come through the whole time he is waiting on us to make a move. Sometimes you have to do the unexpected to get what you want in life. Life is too short to play it safe all the time. I’m not saying go out and be stupid. Have a plan and follow your intuition. It all boils down to if theres a will theres a way. Go for your dreams and don’t let anything, anyone or any situation stop you. You owe it to yourself.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from others is my up bringing, experience, and my drive to get it done what ever it is. I’m most proud that I can still perform songs I wrote and release early on in my career and my day one fans still enjoy it. I’m proud to say when I say ima do it, I do it, thats where my saying “Get it Got it” came from. I’ve always had a natural drive to be result orientated. Its hard for me to chill out or relax when there is something to do or finish. I think I got that way because both of my parents worked a lot and had their own careers. The lessons I learned along the way of my career is sometimes you really have to do things alone and by yourself, it doesn’t mean that everyone hates you or they don’t want you to win. I believe there comes a season where God will test you to see how bad you want it or to see if you can break the chains that will hold you back. There is nothing wrong with doing it alone, or starting over. Starting over doesn’t mean your doing it from the beginning your starting from experience this time. I wouldn’t recommend doing it alone forever. Network and build a solid team to where everyone works hard, has common goals and wants everyone to win. I would like to let the world know that you really can accomplish anything your heart desire. If it makes your heart fill with joy and a real passion of yours then go for it. Don’t worry about being judged for what you do. Even though I am a rapper, I let it be own I will rap until I die, so if I’m 80 years old I’m still hitting the stage if I’m physically able, age shouldn’t put a limit to my happiness.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, I have relocated to Colorado. I am an adventurous person, if its around the spring/summer time we will go mountain climbing or Zip lining. There are so many sight seeing things to do out here. If you like weed or edibles there are plenty dispensaries out this way. Me and my wife frequent those lol. I would definitely rent out a cabin around the winter time so you can enjoy the sight seeing and snow. I haven’t been skiing yet so that would be something I would enjoy for the first time. Foods around here are nice and we do have a variety such as sushi, which is around the corner from where we live. There are numerous of places to hang out from bars, clubs, cigar spots, hookah lounges, and parties at community centers. It all depends on what you like and who you like to be around. I love a good museum as well, you get to see and learn about history and enjoy the art. If you are an animal lover like myself, we would definitely go by a petting zoo or a place where they teach and show you the animals and visit there natural habitat.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shout out my mother Sharon Blouin. She has been my rock and my help in the beginning of my career. I still use lessons that she taught me in my early life today. She passed in 2017. She use to take me to the studio and all my shows and we would be there all night sometimes until the morning hours and she had to be at work in a few hours. She would always critique my performance. After I would perform I would ask how I did or what I need to improve. She would tell me to learn how to control your breathe or move around more. The very last performance that she was physically able to come to she had nothing to critique, it was like I had the perfect performance. I really miss her and she is one of the reasons I refuse to give up, I don’t want what she taught me to be in vain and for nothing, she really sacrifice alot.
