We had the good fortune of connecting with Celena Avery and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Celena, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
The habit that has helped me succeed the most is journaling. I wake up every day with the idea of wanting to be productive as possible. I always have a set of short-term goals and long-term goals. I strategize daily on how to conquer each goal and when to create new ones. This technique allows me to continuously elevate Stone Glow as a business and a brand.

 

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Outside of being an entrepreneur, I’m a nurse. Becoming a nurse has been one of my greatest accomplishments. I currently work in the mental health field. This was another inspiration for creating Stone Glow. Our products allow you to turn your home into a spa to revitalize your mind, body, and skin. We could all use some pamper time. Passing nursing school isn’t the easiest task, but I’m grateful that I was able to make it through. I’m currently back in school pursing a degree in healthcare administration.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love a fun filled weekend in Houston! If my best friend was in town, I would definitely take her eat at The Waffle Bus, Lost & Found, or Phil & Derek’s for brunch. After that, we could hang out at Bar 2200, Azuza, or Kamp Houston. I love a nice atmosphere with good food, music, and hookah. Other than that, I’m always down to catch a good concert or comedy show!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The person that deserves credit is my business partner Breanna. We met in college and have been inseparable ever since. We built Stone Glow from scratch. We created the brand, products/recipes, and website together with no assistance. We researched and taught ourselves everything about this business. I’m fortunate to have a reliable partner that helped me bring my vision to life without ever doubting me.
