We had the good fortune of connecting with Chastity Estes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chastity, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
In Houston, Texas, I’m a successful entrepreneur and businesswoman. I grew up in Missouri City, one of Houston’s many suburbs. As a teenager, I began my journey into Corporate America as a high school intern in the oil and gas industry. I had business-minded parents that influenced my entrepreneurial interests; and I now have three amazing children and one grandchild who inspire me to create generational wealth for my family. Today, almost 30 years after starting my career, I am a lead electrical designer for an oil and gas company, an entrepreneur and business owner of DTK Bomb Designs, whose initials are derived from my three sons, who are now all over the age of 21, and a published author on Amazon titled “We Got Time Today” Keys to Boosting Online Sales. As a mother and entrepreneur, I continue to impart my entrepreneurial skills to my sons, all of whom are working towards their own entrepreneurial goals and one son who has a non-profit organization that I am on the board of called “Built To Win Foundation” Nonprofit.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
DTK Bomb Designs specializes in unique and customized gifts made through creativity, crafts, and engraving methods which make beautiful memorials and keepsakes for any special occasion. With our large selection of memorial & keepsake gifts, DTK Bomb Designs offers something unique for everyone. We are committed in designing our custom handcrafted products with love and care.

I started designing memorial gifts in memory of my mother in order to provide myself and my siblings with a lasting memory. This inspired me to design keepsakes and memorial gifts as a product in my business. As a result, they have become some of my most popular gift items for people who are mourning and missing loved ones.

We have definitely raised the bar in the market with our engraved LED lights with pictures. This product is extremely popular for our mourning clients who wish to commemorate their loved ones. My excitement is growing as I prepare to market to area funeral homes in 2022. My biggest challenge will be keeping up with demand once I secure an agreement with a funeral home. I’m looking forward to the future and am up for the challenge. After all, this is what I have prayed for since day one.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There are so many things to do in Houston, especially the nightlife and Sunday brunch. My list of places to visit for Sunday Brunch includes Kiss Houston, Kamp Houston & Bar 5015. During the weekend, start with breakfast at Breakfast Klub downtown and finish with lunch at Turkey Leg Hut, followed by a night of fun at the downtown bars.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My praise goes to GOD first and foremost for all the favor, blessings and life lessons I have received in my personal life and professional. I wouldn’t be anything without the grace and mercy of GOD. Also, I would like to thank my angle in Heaven, my amazing mother, who was my biggest cheerleader and motivator. My queen believed in me even when I doubted myself, and, of course, my three sons, who continue to inspire me and serve as my biggest motivation in life. My father for his continuous encouragement.

It is with great gratitude that I acknowledge my business mentor and design/craft trainer J Marquis Apparel. After my mother passed away, I gave up all entrepreneurship. That’s when J Marquis Apparel came and took me under their wing, trained me for free, and enabled me to achieve my dream.
