We had the good fortune of connecting with Christian Collins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christian, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When starting the Texas Youth Summit (texasyouthsummit.com) back in 2019, I wanted to host a conference that attracted youth and young adults from all across the state who were interested in how to make a difference in their communities, our state, and our nation. I wanted to bring in the biggest Conservative and Christian influencers (elected officials, media and thought leaders, business and faith leaders) of today to educate them with Judeo-Christian and Conservative principles. I wanted this to be a transformational conference where they would be inspired to go out and make a big difference in the world. We make this conference entirely free to youth and young adults and parents and older adults are welcome to come with the purchase of a ticket.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m excited that I get to help students know why they believe what they believe before they go off to college so that as scripture says their houses are built on the rock, a firm foundation, and not on the sand and they aren’t swept away by the false doctrines of anti-God, anti-family, and anti-America ideology that their professors will likely push on them.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was in town we’d go for a run on The Woodlands Waterway to enjoy its elegant ambiance and then for lunch, we’d go downtown Conroe to enjoy its quaint environment. In Conroe, I would recommend Joe’s Italian Restaurant. Not only is the food delicious, but we’d get to meet the two brothers who own it, Joe and Nick Haliti, two great men who epitomize the American dream. That night we’d go into Houston to visit a Houston Astros or Houston Rockets game! If he came in March, we’d go to the Houston Rodeo!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Reverend Rafael Cruz, father of Senator Ted Cruz, is who has inspired me most to connect my faith and politics. It was spending hundreds of hours traveling the country back in 2015-2016 as a part of Senator Cruz’s presidential team that solidified my views that politics and faith go hand in hand. My faith informs my politics and it’s the reason I’m so passionate about being salt and light in the political arena.
