We had the good fortune of connecting with Christopher Robinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christopher, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
I hope that I’m a creative that brings in other black creatives, and we create a space where we can not just be the face of the company’s brands. But the actual brain and operation of the brand. The end game for me in ownership, being a cornerstone in the design industry with graphic design and illustration. And doing so while telling my story and bringing a visual voice of change economically to the black creative circle.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Im a graphic designer by trade, my love is in illustrations work. I’ve been bless you have all of my friends from college begin to rise so I’m getting into more regular based branding for there companies and businesses they own or work for. Making those college flyers are starting to pay off. My work is very digital graphic based I want things to be functional but still very unique. I hope that when my art is out and about and someone wearing it or it’s posted people will say, “oh I know Chris made that.”
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh wow, I’m going to take them to a staple or two to eat like TurkeyLeg Hut or Sauce Co. ( I enjoy vegan food lol) Definitely hit the East in with all of the art piping up over there and the museum district. Houston such a big city a week wouldn’t be enough. But I love hanging out in the 3rd ward area. It’s some really cool things happening over there that are bringing the culture up. Without Corona we hit some night life spots but you got to play it safe right now. But yea those places and also Sugarlsnd town Center some dope spots out there too.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to send a thank you to my mama and my family, friends, loved ones and one for all of there support. And everyone that’s showed my love love back home in Austin TX, big shout out to Houston TX for giving me a platform to continue to thrive. I thank Rhino market and Mr. Dubiski for giving me my first taste of the world of big name branding. The Fountain of Praise for and opportunity to mold my gifts and grow as a creative and management and Kolor my Kanvas ( Mr./Mrs. Eric and Latonya Smith) for believing in me to take the company to the next level. It’s a little past present and future lol.
