We had the good fortune of connecting with Dominique & Kyra and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dominique & Kyra, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
Our end goal is to be successful youtube influencers that leave an impact on others who are a part of the LGTBQ community. We would like to own multiple business doing things that we are passionate about such as a clothing line and a make up line. By the end of our career we would like to own multiple business and have different streams of income besides our youtube channel and we would also like to flip homes and get into real estate.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Being a youtube influencer isn’t the easiest job in the world, it’s actually pretty hard to stay consistent and deliver great content for our viewers. Recording and editing videos is like a full time job, so having a full time job on top of trying to be a successful youtuber is something that is extremely hard to do. What sets us apart from others is the fact that we haven’t given up yet or slacked up on our work even when it seemed like we were stuck just at one spot. Many other youtubers who started around the same time as us are no longer doing youtube anymore. We have only been on youtube providing content for only 5 months and within those five months we have received 2 strikes that negatively effected our channel and set us back behind by 1 week because we ended up on a 1 week probation. What makes us excited about being on youtube is that plenty of people get to see our faces and get to know and understand who we are individually and as a lesbian couple. We want the world to know that its okay to be who you are no matter what people say about you. We get a lot of negatives comments towards us being lesbians and are against the things we might show on our channel.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For breakfast I would take them to The Breakfast Klub to jumpstart the day with some delicious breakfast, then go to Hermann Park or Discovery Green downtown just to get some good vibes. Would recommend to ride the bikes downtown so we can bike ride around the city of Houston. For lunch there are a few good spots such as: pluckers, Stuff’d Wings food truck, Turkey Leg Hut, or Glorias Latin Cuisine. Some of the most fun places to check out would be the Color Factory as well as The Museum of Fine Arts. To meet some exciting people The Address is a popping spot to drink, eat and smoke hookah as well as Uptown Hookah, which gives more of a chill and relaxed vibe. One day if the weather is nice a trip to Galveston would be perfect, would love to take a walk on Pleasure Pier and eat at one of their known-for spots.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We would like to give a shoutout to people who supported us from the beginning when we had little to no subscribers and who are still continuing to support us as we have hit over 8k subscribers. A special shoutout to all off our supporters all over the world who love and care about us on a day to day basis.
