Meet Chrystal Sanchez | Makeup artist/ hairstylist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chrystal Sanchez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chrystal, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
I have definitely learned a lot of lessons being a makeup artist, but the most important one I’ve learned so far is that you can’t succeed with your business unless you actually love what you are doing. I learned to not see my business as just a business but to see it as something that I know is going to make someone feel relaxed and beautiful. I feel extremely happy when I see my clients have positive reactions to my work.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Since I was very young I always knew I wanted to have my own business one day. Being a makeup artist has been one of the best choices of my life. I’m basically my own boss, earning money for doing what I love and making others feel good about themselves. Even though it’s been a long journey I’m extremely proud of where I am now. It has taken me a lot of patience and practice to get to where I am but I am very thankful for everything that I have learned. I’m very excited to accomplish the goals I have for the future. Although not everything has been easy. There has been many challenges through out the years. For example there has been many times where I want to give up and just do something else but then I remember that I am where I am for a reason, not for me to give up. I know there will be even harder challenges in the future but I know I will be ready for anything and not give up. I would like for others to know that as a makeup artist and hairstylist I always put my love in to everything I do and that will never change.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For my free time I love doing activities with my children. My all time favorite is going to the movies with my family. Nothing like a good movie and delicious snacks with the perfect people.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I can proudly say that I have an amazing family. I’ve gotten this far thanks to everyone who has supported me. My family, my friends, my in-laws and my husband. They have always believed in and helped me out through everything. Thanks to my father, my father-in-law, and my husband I have a beautiful and spacious hair/makeup studio. Thanks to my mom, my sister, and my mother-in-law for always pushing me to never give up and for always gifting me things that are needed for my studio. Last but not least I’m extremely thankful for my husband. For being my number one and biggest supporter. He’s the one who has been through thick and thin with me. I will forever be extremely thankful for having him in my life.
