We had the good fortune of connecting with Cinee Mitchell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cinee, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
I’ve come to this bridge several times. I tell myself “oh yeah I’m going to take a break for a few months”. then next thing you know I’m getting orders back to back. its hard to keep going most times because life is very over whelming at times and the thing is to take a break but when its your calling and its for you then the Lord will make away for you to keep pushing through.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a pastry chef that dabbles in hot food as well. I work in a commercial kitchen where we make big batches of all things. I’ve always wanted to do commercial size baking/cooking and I love what i do. getting where I am today was hard only because i had to step out my comfort zone to start baking outside my job for the population. I’m currently still evolving in my professional career I’m learning things everyday from all sorts of people. The main lesson I’ve learned on this baking journey is LISTEN to people who’s doing or trying to do what you are doing they may know somethings you don’t and vice versa. My brand is developing but all i can say is keep pushing and don’t give up on your dreams!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well I typically really don’t go out much but i would take her to the Locker room its my favorite spot in Houston. i always have fun there the food is great and the vibe is always on point. The next day would be at Lucille’s i love love their french toast and the vibe is cool as well. we would also go bowling because we both love too and seeing the city for what it is now that we are not kids things have changed since we where running the streets at 18 now 31 going on 32 years young.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
You know how they say it takes a village well i have a great village behind me. my spouse is my biggest supporter he encourages me to keep going even when I’m down on myself. next i have my friends they always talk me into making things I’ve never made before or done before and I love all of them for that.
