We had the good fortune of connecting with Cody D’Andrea and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cody, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I first thought of being an entrepreneur I was in my 20’s and decided lets do it. I started my research on what I was going to do and how I can handle a work life experience that I didn’t get lazy on. Meaning behind lazy is getting up and doing what was needed to be done. Now I get up early and go to bed a little earlier. By giving myself time away from the family to concentrate on the goals gives me a good feeling for the day and my health.
Never did I think I would need that and not having a boss breathe down my neck would be myself doing that. At the end of the day I made my decision to move forward and go. I knew there was going to be challenges and I had to overcome them just like anything I did before.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I love making designs for businesses for flyers and more. I set myself apart as being catchy with marketing phrases that most don’t think about. Even slogans for them to use. Its not always easy because the client can love it or hate it or both! Back to the scratch board can happen many times as the client finally agrees. Fortunately, I recall only ever making one needed scratch for businesses and I can stay on point.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Definitely to Kemah and Galveston. There are many different restaurants and places to visit that have great merchandise and great food. However, Kemah would have to be a day and night trip for all the colors they have around! In Galveston the Rainforest Cafe would be a definite stop for sure! The ride and the experience you get there is beyond amazing! Of course some BBQ from the area as this of course is Texas!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My wife has supported me thoroughly through the process and been encouraging in everything I do. She even holds me accountable sometimes when I need that push!
