We had the good fortune of connecting with Tghairr and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tghairr, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind the success of my hair business is training my mind! How you think shapes everything you will or will not do in this lifetime. When it comes to my business I push aside the thoughts that try to tell me why I shouldn’t do something and just do it! When God tells me to move, I move. Not just saying “I have faith” but actually having said faith and moving accordingly. I don’t move off fear. I say I want to do something, I make a plan and I start. All of the things people call cliches are the key! Just start.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve been braiding four years now. The journey has been something. What sets me apart from other braiders would be my passion aside from actually braiding hair. I love building relationships and connections with my clients. I care about how they feel when they enter the room, while in the room & leaving. What makes me so proud is seeing me make clients feel exactly how I made my clients back in Alabama feel here in Texas and I haven’t even been here a year. That’s not luck or happenstance. That’s hard work, dedication, determination. So I’d honestly say it wasn’t just “hard” atleast for me. Were there hard moments? Yes. But, keeping your foot on the gas is how I overcame those times. The times when things are hard isn’t the time to doubt yourself, or God. This is the time to go even harder because what’s on the other side of that will change your life for the better. Lessons I’ve learn since being a FULLTIME braider and entrepreneur would be don’t compare your journey your brand to anyone else it’s YOU VS YOU. The one thing people should take from my brand is I’m only this far because i didn’t let my overthinking win. I still overthink but I do it anyway. What’s the worse that can happen? And I’m only just beginning!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
God & my grandparents are who I’d like to give recognition to when it comes to how far I’ve come. God has turned me into a women today who 16 yr old me who have never believed. And my grandmother for always believing in me! Even when I wanted to give up on myself God and my grandparents were there! Also my mom & siblings, they are my rock. when I had 0 clients they let me mess up their hair until i got good enough. I can’t thank them enough.
