We had the good fortune of connecting with Cody Riley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cody, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thoughts were if I can work the insane hours and put in the effort it takes to survive in the oil and gas industry for 12 years, then I can put that same amount of work and dedication into building something and helping people

What should our readers know about your business?
I started this company while working in the oil and gas industry. I worked in oil and gas for 12 years, and fell into roofing sales on the side. My work ethic and my obsession with things once I get involved has gotten me to where I am today. Last year I decided to put my full focus into my company and leave oil and gas for good. I decided that if I can work the insane hours of oil and gas for somebody else, that I can put that same energy into something I would love to create. We started out as an ordinary roofing company assisting homeowners get storm damage approved through insurance. Now we do it all. Even energy efficient windows. The hardest part for me was the counless hours of lost sleep thinking I made a mistake because I have a wife and 2 kids to feed. My wife helped me through those hard times and kept reminding me that I made the right choice

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I like golf. That being said one of my favorite places is Swing Zone or going to the golf course with a nice meal afterwards. Most likely Chi.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Wife deserves all the recognition. Without her I would not have been able to accomplish the things I have accomplished.
