We had the good fortune of connecting with Comfort Abiodun and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Comfort, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
Being able to evoke emotions and positively impact others through my work makes me happy.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Film has always been something i’ve been passionate about. I love all aspects of it and I think there’s something fascinating about the creative process and everyone working together to create something for an audience to see on screen. There are always challenges, but filmmaking is nothing but a team effort, and the end product truly makes it worth it. Despite it being the first short film I ever wrote, ‘This is Real Life’ received so much love and support after it premiered and it still does to this day- and I can really only thank my wonderful production team and cast & crew for that. Working with everyone was such a delight and that project taught me so much about the industry and propelled me into new opportunities. I am in a perpetual state of learning and I am grateful that I still get to create and grow each day.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am probably Houston’s biggest fan. There are so many places I love in the city but here are some of my favorites: – POST Houston
– MFAH
– Agora Coffee
– Thrifting in Montrose
– Sozo sushi
– Toute Suite for brunch
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shoutout literally everyone who has worked with me and encouraged me in any way, shape, or form. It’s really about the people you surround yourself with, and I also want to thank University of Houston for being supportive and for fostering such a great environment for growth and creativity. This school produces so many talented and creative people that I have been lucky enough to know.
