We had the good fortune of connecting with Curran Guiney and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Curran, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Great customer service. When people think of Band Barracks, we want them to associate that with a great service and experience.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We run the largest 24/7 music studios in Texas with automated booking, at high-quality and low cost. Our studios are designed with great acoustic sound treatments, come with easy-to-use use high quality gear, and provide an inspiring ambience. We have live recording software equipped in some of our studios at no additional cost.

We’ve also opened a retail center and have a growing rental department, as well as being open late to serve our customers. It’s convenient as we sell basic musical gear and accessories.

It certainly wasn’t easy getting here, converting an 80 year old building to a music facility had its many challenges.. But we focused on the vision and most importantly our customers.

Band Barracks is a friendly, safe, and accessible studio to all musicians of any background. We want people to feel that the moment they walk in.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Here’s a list of some of my favorites: Sunrise Taquitos, Poison Girl, Museum of Modern Art, The Original Kolache Shoppe, Minute Maid Park.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The shoutout here definitely goes to my family and fiancé. There are always obstacles when starting a business or taking on a big project, but the support of family lets you know you will always land on your feet.
