We had the good fortune of connecting with Cyndi Dinh and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cyndi, what principle do you value most?
What matters most to me are the authentic relationships with everyone in my life. I am certainly blessed with many and am especially grateful for my husband, my children, my parents, siblings and friends. What I mean by authentic relationship is intentionally choosing to grow and learn with one another. I believe we are created with a need to share our life, our perspective, our wisdom and our journey.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Rustic Brush offers instructor-led workshops designed to help you create beautiful one-of-a-kind signs and décor for your home, business or to gift your special someone. There are endless designs and a variety of projects available. We will guide you in the right direction, so don’t worry about your skill level. We provide all the materials you need to create a personalized work-of-art. Our Instructors will assist you in creating an original, customized masterpiece from start to finish. We have a relaxed and social environment that is perfect for entertaining and celebrating special events. We are a BYOB establishment and welcome you to make yourself at home. Bring your family, friends, co-workers or come on your own to share this social crafting experience with others! We are passionate about bringing our community together by inspiring creativity and by providing a fun, educational and fulfilling DIY experience for each of our guest, every time. We are thrilled to offer a space where guests of all ages can express themselves creatively! Our greatest joy is to witness the creation of authentic relationships through each social crafting experience at The Rustic Brush. Where I am today, business-wise, stemmed from my passion to craft and create gifts. It’s been a dream to combine what I enjoy doing with the people I love. It wasn’t easy at first transitioning from being a wife to business partner. We had to learn and understand our roles as business partner and adjust how we interact with respect to business decisions. I believe if you take the time to develop and build authentic relationships with one another, you would be able to overcome the stressful and difficult times. Strong authentic relationships take time to develop and our goal at The Rustic Brush is to provide a fun social crafting experience so families, friends and communities to strengthen their relationships.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When my best friend from out of town visits, I would take her to brunch at First Watch or Toasted Yolk. If it’s a beautiful day out, we would stroll and shop at the Cypress Outlet Mall. We would grab some popcorn chicken and tapioca milk tea drink from SharedTea as refreshments. We would stop by The Rustic Brush to craft. Then cap off the evening with dinner at Phat Eatery.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Someone who have made such a huge impact over the last 15 years in my life is Jena Rodriguez, CEO and Founder of Brave Masters. Jena and I met while working for PKF of Texas in 2005. Our relationship began like many typical professional work relationship did; but it continued long after we resigned from the firm. The authenticity of our relationship created a bond which turned into friendship. And because of our friendship. we remain very close despite her move to another state. I am extremely blessed to have her not only as a friend, but also as a sister in Christ.
