We had the good fortune of connecting with Cynthia gund and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cynthia, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I would say the most important factor behind any successful business is consistency. When someone decides to start a business or brand, the beginning will be very discouraging but that’s because the foundation of something is always slow in order to make the perfect finish. At first when I started my online content, I wasn’t getting a lot of views or attention, the content that I was creating was poor because I wasn’t putting my mind into it but because I had my vision on where I was going and how I wanted to impact my field I stayed consistent. It’s better to try and try than to give up and wish you had waited to see the outcome because regardless, time waits for nobody. You either stay dedicated to the work and have faith or fall off but still, time still runs. Once I mastered how important consistency was in creating content, engaging with my audience and sharing my views, I saw a major growth in my business.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When quarantine hit 2020, I fell in love with working out. I would get on FaceTime and workout with my friend or do stream workout videos on YouTube and I would never skip a day I was very dedicated to my goal. One day, my first coach reached out to me on Instagram about a weight loss program I should join, I was a bit skeptical at first but I decided to give it a try and that was one of the best decisions I made because not only did that change my lifestyle, it pushed me to be where I am today. I lost over 60 pounds during quarantine, and all through my process, I would share bits and clips on Instagram and it attracted a lot of people, which in the process I was able to help many of my close friends lose weight or get their target fitness goals. However I was very shy and scared I thought I didn’t have it in me to get to the top or become a fitness influencer. My coach Eloho kept motivating me and one day, I posted my transformation and got a lot of attention people reached out to me wanting to know how I got in shape so I helped over 20 people get started on their fitness journey. Come 2021, I decided to make personal guides that I carefully tailored to help those who want to get in shape whether it be weight loss or weight gain. From there, I got more attention and now I’ve helped over 50 people on their fitness journey. I still have so much work and plans to make a reality but I’m proud of my journey and how I stayed consistent in reaching my goals and helping others as well.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Houston is very fun, anyone I know that comes to Houston doesn’t want to leave lol. I’d say places to eat like: Moxies, papadeaux, steak 48, season 52. For night life: Atomic bottle, seaside lounge, KAMP. The color factory and seismique are family friendly and very interesting. City center at night time is very pretty as well.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to all my friends that believed in me that I could reach my full potential just from doing something I liked. Most importantly shoutout to my first coach Eloho whom I met on Instagram and she pushed me to keep going everyday with calls and motivational texts to stay committed to my goals.
