We had the good fortune of connecting with Damilola Akinlotan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Damilola, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
Being consistent is the most important thing to remember in any new venture. Procrastinating can bring you to your lowest point and it’s sometimes hard to come out of that. I’ve learned to be more resilient since I started recording music and fighting to be the best I can.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am an artist that loves the sound of music. I strive to make music for the world. I was a dancer for most of my life, dance was a huge part of my expression. I am excited to see where my sound takes me. I’ve been around musically inclined individuals all my life. Observing their skill set and operations was always stuck to me. While in college I used to 𝙳𝚓 house parties and make mixes for my dance team to utilize for competitions. I believe in myself, my craft, and I know I’ll be great.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Lepashandy is the life of the party. I love to introduce my friends to new adventures, clubs aren’t the only places to have fun. When my friends visit I’d take them to new eatery spots, museums, karaoke/open mic nights, dance class (if they’re down), clubs, a drive to the beach (if the weather is lovely), a picnic at the park, bike riding downtown, etc. Adventures for days.


Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This one goes out to my best friend and manager Sammie Juice. He pushed me and helped me realize I can do anything I put my mind to. I was scared to present my first set of lyrics when he gave me a beat because I thought “this ain’t it” but now here we are. I’m very excited for this new journey and ready to conquer all.
