We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle Balsara and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danielle, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I have taken many risks throughout my life both personally and professionally. I wouldn’t be where I am today without taking risks. Without risks, you’d never know what you are capable of. When I was younger someone once told me that I couldn’t keep changing my mind just because I wasn’t happy. As I grew older, I learned that I thrive on change. If I’m not changing, then I’m becoming stuck, and if I’m stuck I’m less likely to take risks. So I thrive on changing and taking risks in order to reach my best potential. If I take a risk and am not successful, I don’t see it as a failure, just a lesson.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I recently made a decision to become a Realtor in addition to my teaching career. I have spent the last 7 years as a teacher and it has provided me with more life lessons than I could ever imagine, but it was time for me to make a change. Like I mentioned, I thrive on change. I felt as though I was getting stuck, and it was time for me to expand my knowledge. The choice to become a Realtor was not taken lightly. I spent about 6 months just contemplating the idea, and then another year and a half completing the licensing process. I decided to become a Realtor because I thrive off of helping others. I’ve been helping students for 7 years, and now I’m ready to service others with all their real estate needs. I personally was rushed through the home buying process, and I never want my clients to have that experience. My goal for my clients is to feel confident in their purchase or sale with no regrets.

My clients will be 110% satisfied after I listen to their needs and deliver fast results.

In addition to working with clients, I am also most excited about collaborating with other small business owners and discovering all there is to do in Houston! I want to be an active member within the community. I am looking forward to this new adventure and I am so excited to work with new clients throughout the Houston area!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love Houston because of the diversity and all of the things to do, but I have some personal favorites. As for food, my number one stop would be Taco-Keto. Taco-Keto is a must-stop food truck usually parked in the EaDo area. They serve amazing, authentic koketadas, burritos, quesadillas, etc. with a spicy green salsa to die for! Second food stop would be Laurenzo’s. They have been around for 50 years and serve a melt-in-your-moth prime rib that can’t be beat. Third food stop would be Lil’ Daddy’s Gumbo Bar for some gumbo or crawfish étouffée. I’ve never tasted a better cajun seasoning! And while you’re in Galveston, I would highly recommend visiting The Spot with amazing cocktails and a view. My favorite thing to do in Galveston is spending the day at a beach-side pool and then enjoying the nightlife on the Strand. Back in Houston, two of my favorite bars are Present Company and The Rustic. Present Company is the perfect place to go if you want to time travel back to Miami in the 80’s! And The Rustic has an amazing “Rustic Margarita” with a side of live music almost everyday of the week. If you’re looking for a more laid back atmosphere, White Rhino near East End has a great patio with refreshing list of cocktails. Besides food and drinks, Houston has an array of attractions including NASA, the aquarium, and a diverse range of museums just to name a few. Lastly, I would take visitors shopping! My favorite place to shop for newly released sneakers is Premium Goods in Rice Village! Bloom is another independent store front near East End with cute clothing and accessories. These are all places that would be on my itinerary for a classic trip to Houston.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people that have contributed to my success, but 3 major influences come to mind. First, I would like to shout out my mom. I would not be where I am today without her love, support, and guidance! Second, I’d like to shoutout my husband, Josh Balsara. I would not have this beautiful, silly life without him, and for that I am forever grateful. He makes me smile everyday and encourages me to be my best self. I do not regret any decisions I’ve made in life because it has led us to the life we have together now. And lastly, I’d like to shoutout my best friend, Sarah Milluzzi. She is my number one supporter, road-trip buddy, and concert go-er. Life wouldn’t be as fun without her!
