We had the good fortune of connecting with Darren Stewart and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Darren, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
It’s funny how this response has changed almost every year as my business has grown. Over the past couple of years I would have to say the main force behind my business growth has been brand recognition. A lot of my marketing efforts recently have been geared towards a constant market presence. I’ve worked at that on multiple fronts like Facebook, Google, Instagram, and Local Publications as well, striving to be the top fitness individual people in my community think of when looking for a health and wellness specialist. Consistency in business is the key though, and I’m always looking for new ways I can continue to market and get my name out there!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve had a lot of ups and downs in my personal training career, especially through Covid and coming out victorious on the other side. Getting to a point in business where I’ve had a steady stream of business takes a lot of growth, patience, time, and effort. One of the biggest things I learned from the process was every minute and dollar you invest in your business gives a return. I started with my business logo, and then followed that with a website, and now almost two years later I’ve reached a point that I have more clients than I can take on. Those small steps though had exponential long term returns for my business, and I wouldn’t be taking the larger steps I am today without them
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, hoping that most of my friends have an affinity for outdoor activities as I do, my first stop would have to be Houston Memorial Park. I love all the work the city has put into the park and newly built landbridge. Running the Memorial Loop Trail is something I highly enjoy, so would definitely take them to experience Houston’s amazing running community. With Opening Day right around the corner though as I’m writing this, I would definitely say an Astros game would be a must too. Heading out after a game for a little of Houston’s downtown experience would be a must. Being one of my favorite Astros players of all time, I would have to stop in at Biggio’s for a cold one after the game!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
So I’ve used this opportunity before to thank my mother first and foremost, and also my mentor Missi Krause. Looking back on my time in business though, I have to give a bunch of recognition to my amazing clients who have been with me for so long. Some of my clients have been with me upwards of five years, and my longest is almost ten years now. I wouldn’t be where I am today without amazing people like them who have believed in me through the growing years, and stuck with me until now. Thank you guys so much for all your commitment and dedication!
