Meet David Clark Brian Delaney | David Clark and Brian DeLaney, co-founders of Not Another Film Organization

We had the good fortune of connecting with David Clark Brian Delaney and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi David Clark, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
We started Not Another Film Organization because we wanted to help grow and support the local film industry. We meet so many awesome, talented people at the local mixers and events and screenings, and we keep hearing about the same issues over and over: A lack of support and a lack of opportunities. We wanted to do what we could to help alleviate those issues. We’re also part of the community. Brian is a composer and David is a writer. We want to work on projects for others and see ours come to life as well.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Brian: For me it was fulfilling a need in the local community. There are other organizations that cater to working or established filmmakers, but there isn’t much out there for people who are absolute beginners in the field. It is a bottom up approach, make sure that people learn the right way to do things so when bigger productions come to town we are prepared for it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Brian: Such a big question. It really depends on what the friend is into. If they are into art, there are so many museums like The Contemporary Art Museum which is free to attend and is always an interesting time.
David: Trick question. I don’t have any friends.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Honestly, it’s hard to pick just one. There are so many talented people in the Houston film industry, and the thing about constantly surrounding yourself with passionate, enthusiastic, creative people is that it wears off on you and it inspires you to match that effort, energy, and intensity. Big thank you to all the people that show up and support the industry and all the people who have stories to tell and keep fighting every day to tell them, no matter what they have to overcome to do so.
