Meet Dayna Hennigan | Real Estate Agent

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dayna Hennigan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dayna, what is the most important factor behind your success?
My faith is the most important factor behind my success followed by mindset and networking. Before starting as a realtor, I was a school administrator and if you would have asked me where do I see myself in 2021, I would have quickly said something to the idea of leading or opening my own school. To go from being a school administrator to a full-time realtor at the rate of success that I have experienced thus far, has been absolutely mind blowing.
Coming into this field in the midst of a pandemic at a time that was thought to be an economic downfall has been very rewarding and was achieved through having a positive mindset and networking. The same mindset that I have about the educational system when it comes to students that are overlooked is the same mindset I have when working with clients that have never owned a home, let alone believed that homeownership was a possibility. I find such fulfillment in walking a client through the home buying process and making sure that they truly understand the investment they are making. I believe my mindset is quickly seen when I interact with my clients. They know that I am genuine about wanting them to get a home that they love…not like and me not putting my commission before their investment.
Most of my clients are first time home buyers and are either afraid of what lies ahead of them or don’t know what to expect because they are traveling through unchartered waters. And that’s where I come in, still using my educational tactics, teaching my clients about each step that they are enduring. I encourage my clients to ask as many questions needed to gain a full understanding of the terms being used, the process and strategies we are taking, the documents that they are signing, and much more. I never want my clients to feel ashamed of not knowing something or afraid to ask a question, so I work to create a collaborative and comfortable home buying environment.
This same mindset has overflowed to my husband and I networking with other real estate professionals (i.e. lenders, credit specialists, home insurance agents, inspectors, etc.) to host a free monthly workshop where we provide one on one time with each attendee and guide them towards the direction of homeownership. Every 3rd Saturday, we host this event at The S.H.A.P.E. Center located at 3815 Live Oak Street, Houston, TX 77004 from 12-2pm. To attend, the participant mush sign up prior to the event at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/182820891207 to allow us to minimize the crowd due to COVID and for us to truly engage in personal conversations about homeownership.
Faith, mindset, and being collaborative are the foundational elements that my business is built upon. Each one of these factors will never change, but will always be influential in how my business moves forward.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am constantly focusing on how I can improve my craft, so I can provide a valuable service to my past, current, and future clients. The same foundational elements (faith, mindset, and networking) that have brought me success are the same things that make me unique in my field. Those who know me, have constantly heard me say, “What is for me, is for me!” which exhibits my faith. My willingness to help others is an example of my mindset and living by the saying “There is no ‘I’ in team” is a statement that reigns true in my business and is an example of my belief in the power of networking. Not only thinking, but working in this manner has allowed me to achieve above average results in 2021. Based on the statistics from Real Estate Express, “The average real estate agent in the United States closes 12 deals a year.” I have been blessed to close (as of October 2021) 17 deals totalling $3.1 million dollars in sales. It wasn’t an easy accomplishment, but with the help of my network, I was able to achieve this success.
As a realtor, I have experienced some sleepless nights, nervous waiting times, uncomfortable conversations, and teachable moments that each transaction brings about. And I value those moments because it gets my clients to the happy and joyous “Closing Day” in which they excitingly get a chance to take pictures signing documents and holding the “SOLD” sign. With that in mind, I truly appreciate each client and transactional moment because it has made me a better professional. Overall, I would want to leave the community knowing that I am a realtor that is willing and able to go above and beyond to assist my clients with achieving their real estate goal. Although I am no longer in the field of education, I am still an educator at heart and each moment with my clients is an opportunity to teach them about their real estate transaction to ensure they are confident, comfortable, and competent in their transaction from the beginning to the end. Feel free to reach out to me and ask me questions…I’m here to help!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting the great city of Houston for a weeklong trip, this time would definitely be filled with a lot of food, great drinks, and music. Since I like to frequent places that have great music and scenery, we would go to Bar 5015, Faces, The Spot (EaDo), and Five Central to indulge in their patio spaces, drinks, food, and music. These are definite places that you can dress up or down depending on the day and time. Either way, a great time will be had! Because you can’t come to Houston and not indulge in our culinary cuisines, we would reserve a table for dinner at Taste Bar and Kitchen on live music night for some good eats and beats and Thirteen for the sexy vibe and food.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shout out my husband, Roland Hennigan!! Roland is the one that encouraged me to get into real estate and he has been a great business and thought partner. It is great to have someone that challenges your thinking and celebrates your accomplishments, but most importantly, he helps me on those not so pretty real estate deals. My husband has stepped in and shown homes to my clients when I am not feeling well, negotiated repair prices, and climbed into attics with inspectors. My success is really…OUR success!
