We had the good fortune of connecting with Deborah Gaffney and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Deborah, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
2020 started out in a less than stellar way for me, just like everyone else. What I thought was going to be a fantabulously productive year began with an amazingly harsh allergy attack that has continued for the last nine months. Did I mention our entire country went in to house arrest, I mean quarantine thanks to a buggy little virus named Covid19. I felt the need to try and help others, in some way; anything to help my desperate need to get out of the house and do something. The ability to help others steer their way through the insurance Marketplace seemed like a win/win scenario. I obtained my licenses to sell health and life insurance in Texas, Florida, Ohio, Virginia, Louisiana, Virginia, Kansas, Wisconsin and Wyoming. I have been able to use DGProductions to create promotions for this new venture as well as continue to help non profits like The Mary Jane Corvell Foundation and Operation-Adulting. Just another way to help other people everyday…even in some small way!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I will always consider myself a “CREATIVE” A person who connects to life and projects on a passionate level. When you do something you love, you create/do/accomplish with passion. Being able to help others is a passion of mine. Whether I’m building a quote, counseling youth, searching the ACA Marketplace for coverage options, creating a promo, delivering a line or bringing a character to life; I approach each task with a dedicated attention to detail and desire to achieve selected goals.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Houston is the fourth largest city in the United States. There is a wealth of art, music, food and fun to take in…beautiful parks, museums and people. We are an eclectic, universally unique city. We’ve got jazz, folk, country, rhythm & blues, rap and rock. Did I mention the Opera? There is the Houston Ballet, and theatres! We’ve a plethora of talented creatives on the stage and the screen. You would need more than a week to visit the zoo, the aquarium, the Children’s Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Menil Collection, the Health Museum, the Holocaust Museum, the Asia Society, the Jung Center the Buffalo Soldiers Museum the Lawndale Center , just to name a few. That doesn’t even touch on the surrounding area attractions like the Kemah Boardwalk or the laid back fun in Galveston.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Dr. W. Daniel Gaffney, Jr., Endodontic Specialist. He worked throughout the stay at home order treating patients with Dental Emergencies. He has been my support in so many ways. Thank you!
