We had the good fortune of connecting with Destini Watson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Destini, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Since I was a young girl, I have always wanted to be the boss! When playing with my stuffed animals, I would always pretend I was the manager and the stuffed animals were my employees. I knew even at a young age that I wanted to start my own business! As I got older, I developed a love for makeup and artistry. This love, combined with my drive to lead ultimately prompted my decision to start my own makeup service business, and Youtube channel! 

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Inspired by beauty and driven by creativity, my work reflects elegance and style. I am proud of the timeless, and effortless looks I am able to create as a self taught makeup artist. I have been able to reach a professional level of artistry through lots of hard work, dedication, and determination. The journey has not always been easy. Between competing with highly trained professional experts, and dealing with self doubt and insecurities, the road has often gotten bumpy. However, I’ve learned to never lose sight of your ultimate vision, never stop working on your craft, and never give up! I want to be recognized as one of the worlds greatest makeup artist and I will not stop until the vision is fulfilled!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We love to go view Houston street art, buffalo bayou park, or discovery green! The Houston museums are always great ! we love to eat at Houston hot spots like The turkey leg hut and Lotus seafood and wings. For our shopping needs we always love the popular galleria and local outlet malls

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shoutout my local beauty community and all my supporters who have encouraged me throughout all my endeavors, and continue to support me. I appreciate all of you and I would not be able to do it without you guys!
