We had the good fortune of connecting with Donna Coble and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Donna, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I say I am from a very small agricultural town in Southern New Jersey called Green Creek. Actually I was born in the “Big City” of Philadelphia, & my family moved to Green Creek when I was 8 years old. I have always loved growing up in a small town where you can hear the crickets an bird chirping, the bay was around the corner It brought a sense of calm into my life from a young age.

My father died suddenly when I was 5 mths old leaving my mother a single parent with 3 children under the age of 4. My first memory of my mom or “Muz” ,as we affectionately called her, was of her teaching us spelling words at the kitchen table. Her instructions were to “say it, spell it and say it again”. I inevitably would forget part of it and had to start all over again. This was our routine, 5 days a week at the kitchen table for years. What I did not realize was that in those moments, Muz was teaching us that diligence, persistence and consistency will always produce results. It had nothing to do with spelling and everything to do with life.

It had a way larger impact on me and still stands true for me today. It has been a defining moment, as they say. I teach all of my clients that persistence and consistency are 2 keys to unlock success.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Have you ever heard “Life is what you make it”? I never truly believed that. I had the mindset that things just happened to me not for me or because of me. Have you ever felt that way? That was the earlier part of my life. I had suffered a stroke at the age of 34 and before that I battled numerous diseases and diagnosis’s that should have inevitably cut my life short. At 34 though, my mind was ripped wide open and I began to think there has to be more to life. I was working in the restaurant industry for one of the biggest names in hospitality in Houston. I loved what I did, my staff was incredible, my boss was phenomenal and my husband and I had just adopted 2 children. From the outside, it appeared that live was good.
The one thing that sets me apart from others in the same industry is the connections I make. They are real. I want everyone to do their best because I know they have it in them. Hype Girl need not apply. , There have been times when my clients do not even have the courage to stand on their own two feet and talk about what they need, we find them their voice. It is powerful, it is connection.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love Escape Rooms, Axe throwing, etc. group activities. I really feel like I would rather have a great dinner with friends then to go out to the bar scene. There are so many great places in Houston to visit. Hatchet House in Cypress is one of our favorite for Axe throwing, Alternative Reality is a wonderful escape room down in Katy we have had so much fun doing. INSPire Rock Climbing has shown to be fun and interesting. As far as restaurants, you can not go wrong with Local Table, Burger Ranch or any of the local owner and operated. We love Cafe Marrese for everything from coffee to lunch to meeting space.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A great deal of my success has been because I surround myself with amazing people who shine brighter than diamonds. My doTERRA Diva Tribe featuring Katie Shaddix, Sarah DeThomas, Daniele Murdoch, Angela Kish, Joy Hamilton, Donielle Gonzales, Kerry Walsh, Laura Deike. In my journey of life, I recall having a fantastic support system, consisting of family and friends that have educated and elevated my level of success. As I grew in both personal and business, I have joined amazing groups such as WGNO, BNI Holistic Chamber of Commerce, and Women Wine and Wellness.

I am not just one woman, I am a community joined by all of these people who have raised me to a new level.
