We had the good fortune of connecting with Drigo Felixx and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Drigo, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
One thing about the photography/videography world your network will take you a long way. The more people that know you and your work the more clientele you can possibly get. It’s more than just posting on social media sites you have to send your work to various blogs, magazines, etc in order to get the recognition you truly deserve.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
With my work I like to capture those memorable moments instead of specific poses. To me photography is about the vibe of the moment and capturing that image that can tell multiple stories from just looking at it. My biggest challenge would be learning various lighting setting for different situations. The lighting can help create the perfect mood. My brand is called Blackshxxp which to means to “Standout” which is what I try to do with every image or video I capture.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m a big foodie so we’d go to multiple places to eat. One of my all time favorites is the original Timmy Chan’s on MLK, gotta have my 6 piece wing dinner with rice and gravy. Then we definitely go downtown to checkout the skyline and various popular spots such ass The Aquarium, Minute Maid Park, Discovery Green, Prospect Park, and a few other places. For the night life I’d definitely go to Washington Ave there’s plenty to get into there. As far as people Houston is full of amazing people so I think just being in the city they’d meet a lot of different people.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to take to the time to shout out MVP Vibes (based out of San Antonio). A platform for local up and coming artists to network and showcase their work. I’ve been working with them for almost 2 years now and I’ve gotten the opportunity to meet and interview multiple artists, we did an exclusive interview and photoshoot with Westside Boogie when he came to San Antonio and that was amazing. The MVP Vibe team has become more like family to me and I appreciate them for all the opportunities I’ve gotten
