We had the good fortune of connecting with Ebony Dycus and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ebony, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Every week my grandparents host a family lunch and gives everyone adjustments because he’s a retired chiropractor. Then my family would go to a franchise massage place. They all had different complaints about the massage places so I wanted to create a place for them to go to! I wanted to help my family members get massages at a reasonable price and in a nice and clean environment.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I went from working in a spa to owning my own spa. Was it easy? No! But it all takes patience and dedication. Some days are very busy and some days I don’t have any clients. I’ve learned to keep promoting nahhhh matter what. I want everyone to know I provide a welcoming environment with quality services.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would go eat at Taste Bar to eat their waffles and jerk lamb chops. Go have drinks at The Rustic. Go take pictures at the water fall near the Galleria Mall. Then go see the art over on Emancipation Ave.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a shout-out to my spa owner friends whom work hard every day in their spa business!
