We had the good fortune of connecting with Emma Glass and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Emma, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I believe it’s very important to be willing to take risks as an entrepreneur. Women are,in general, more risk averse and have deep rooted fears that are holding back a majority of women from earning 7-figures! From taking on the responsibility of hiring a team member to making big asks or scary pivots – that is what sets the leaders apart from the herd. I find that I may be the black sheep on this one, but to be honest, I love a good moment outside of my comfort zone in both my career and life.

What should our readers know about your business?
Growing up, males dominated the entrepreneurial space, including an incredibly successful family business – so I guess it’s in my blood! I became a store manager at Lululemon at the age of 24. I recruited, hired and trained a team of 30 in just 2 months before our grand opening. I saw first hand how women can rise as leaders in a fierce, heart-led way. In 2020, I launched Luxe Leadership and have helped nearly 100 female founders achieve their biggest dreams through balancing the strategy with the woo. One of the greatest lessons I have learned is that work life balance as an entrepreneur is bullshit (sorry, if I am not allowed to curse!), but it’s true. When you are day in and day out building your vision there is no separation between your passion from your business and your passion for your life. A more accurate term would be Work Life Blend- this creates space as an entrepreneur to build boundaries without having the pressure to switch on and off. By having firm boundaries, I am able to create a schedule that I love while avoiding burnout. I want the world to know that it is about the blend of the woo & strategy. A female brain uses both hemispheres of the brain where males mostly use only a single side. This shows women have a superpower of strong intuition, visualizations and feelings along with the left side of logic. A female has untapped power that has been suppressed by society as males dominate leadership roles with few opportunities for women to succeed as leaders and founders. By leaning into this- I am able to weave both the strategy ‘doing’ with the woo of ‘being’ to create a business that changes lives.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would say the best part of Houston is its food & always warm weather! First we would drive down to Galveston for some ocean air for a chill night. We would head back into Houston and go to a workout class at my favorite studio Re/forme Lagree Fitness for a quick 45-minute sweat. Grab a pick me up & snack at Sunday Press before our Facial Gua Sha appointments at A New State of Being- surely to relax and prep us for the evening out. We head back to our Airbnb to shortly recharge before heading out for dinner. We would go to the 1751 Sea and Bar for oysters and seafood. Then spend the night hanging in Montrose area. The next day we spend hours at the Galleria shopping til we drop and order in from Roostar Vietnamese Grill. Next morning we would take a walk along the bayou before dropping her off the airport!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
YES! It sounds incredibly cheesy to say but my mom has always been my #1 fan even when I was the only child to walk around the Kindergarten graduation bridge! My husband who never questions a single decision I make because he trusts I know what is best for me at the time. All my mentors from business to mindset and personal development. My sport coaches who taught me about working hard and it’s not how you start, it’s how you finish that matters most. Frankly, every single person who has come into my life whether it be for a fleeting moment or who are still around- you have left a mark on me and inspired me to expand myself.
