Meet Felix C | Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Felix C and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Felix, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I wanted an outlet where I was able to express myself and work on projects that I’m passionate about, since I never went to art school following this career has helped me get better in my craft.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I define my Art as Punk Expressionism, my biggest influence for my art is the punk music and scene. Most people see PUNK and the first thing they notice is the fashion statement that is in the subculture but for me it’s really the Do it yourself ethos and choosing do to do whatever makes you happy regardless of what others think. That was my biggest thing when it came to creating my brand, having the ability to do anything I want creatively. Having the ability to have a platform where you can do anything you want artistically gives me the drive to be consistent in my art, that is how I got where I am today by being passionate in my career.

Biggest Lesson I learned was to keep moving forward and only worry about what you can control. Starting your Brand can be cutthroat at first, you’re putting yourself out there. Most people don’t see your brand the same way as you and that’s okay. In the beginning you would get a lot of doubts from others but if you focus on yourself and keep your work consistent moving forward will be easy.

The only thing I want people to know about LumberJax, It is a platform to express how I truly feel, and I hope others can see that and do the same.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would probably start off at my place opening Pokemon Cards, while we drink some Truly’s, then we head out to Barbarella for New Noise night on Fridays. Once that is done I would take my homie to La Unica (taco truck in the SW) go back to my place to drink some more and play Tekken 7. Then the next day head out to the beach if the weather is cool.

I don’t go out much these days, but when I do the beach, brunch and Barbs are my go to places to hang out.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Jenny Cuevas, My Wife, she is my muse and she pushes me to get better everyday. Her support goes a long way and I don’t think I would have got far in my career if it wasn’t for her.
