We had the good fortune of connecting with Frances Sanchez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Frances, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Fnfsweets4u was started the first day i really fell in love with baking. However it did take almost a full year for me to give up my position as working for one of the most well known pastry chef’s in Houston. It was a great job with plenty of potential but i would never be able to become my own boss so i ventured out took a leap of faith and started posting ads online .

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Was it easy? Well let me just say if it was easy then i must’ve chosen the wrong time to start up. As of 2018 I was just starting off by word of mouth and just coming up with new ideas on my own. As with any business it took almost a full year to even see consistency in orders,2019 became a great year met many people and was able to start making fnfsweets4u a well known name in this business.2020 was the start of what was going to be one of the best years to start up had many people backing me up, unfortunately the pandemic hit and it seemed like fnfsweets4u was headed straight down. Still with support of regular customers and family i decided to still fight through the uphill battle. I never took out loans, we either wanted this to actually work from the ground up or once and for all realize if this was my true calling or not. The year is now 2022 the whole world knows the past 2 years have not been normal and fnfsweets4u still continues to care for each and every customer. What I’ve learned from all of this is that no matter how the cookie crumbles i will always try to make them with my passion.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There are so many beautiful places in this city that I’m still exploring myself but here is my schedule would be with a friend or family. First off we must catch an Astros game and after the game head on over to either Frank’s pizza in downtown Houston or this 24 hour place right on main street called Poppa’s burger. I would also recommend going downtown if baseball isn’t available to visit The Post to grab a drink or food and then get scenic views of downtown and surrounding areas all in one place. La Mexicana in the Montrose area is a great place for drinks and authentic Mexican food. Allen parkway is a great park to go and relax and just walk and have great skyline views!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and most important i would love to thank my lovely mother for none of this would have existed. She raised 3 daughter’s all on her own while working and going to school for culinary arts, that’s where most of my motivation still comes from. My 2 sisters who have been there to help me out with the social media, pictures, and any other media related or sisterly help is always welcomed! Last but not least my partner not just in business but in this venture called life who has helped guide me and even take me anywhere anytime needed for any orders.
