Meet Fuego Gatsby

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Fuego Gatsby again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.
Fuego, thanks for joining us again. Just to level set a bit for folks who may have missed our last interview together, can you briefly introduce yourself?
Hi! My name is Fuego Gatsby and I’m the creative director of Kolors Studios. I’m a dancer turned content creator. Meaning I was in front of the lens before I was behind it, so my style of direction goes in steps more than an 8-count and is full of emotional energy.
I’ve been a creative longer than I could imagine from being the kid and older brother who always had ideas on how to have fun in the south, where I was raised, in North Carolina. To joining the structural society of the military where fun involves beer pong in any country you live in and the only way to find true creative is to explore past the norms of the Navy life.
I went to college for film making and although not what I expected I gained insight on the fundamental values of the production world. Now I work in the production world producing amazing content for my clients and myself.
What sets me apart is that not I have that background of being in front of the lens, so I’m not afraid to jump in front and teach value. This allows me to help my community of modern day content creators at face value providing them courage to push the limits from not just behind the lens but in front too.
I’ve worked with companies like Spring Hill production on a LGBTQ+ brand collab w/ Sue Bird, Coco b productions on a Black womans expo seminar, the state Washington on the reinvestment fund for POC business owners, and etc.
I also help provide content and content strategy for aspiring creatives who want to take their brands to the next level by teaching them to take control over their image on social media in order to make impact towards their select target audience.
Everything I’ve ever done has been from my life long journey on learning to be a better human and allowing the creative inside of me meet the human that exist. I’m a student to this industry, life, and learning more and more everyday.
Oh! & I’m in Seattle killing it one project at a time while building the infrastructure!!!

Great, so let’s jump into an update on what you have been up to since we last spoke. What can you share with us?
I’ve been honestly just building and learning how to be a better father, creative, entrepreneur, and really all the things!!! There’s been ups and downs like going homeless for a brief period because well… life just be life honestly. This moment didn’t deter me though only made me stronger and through my faith in God I’m learning to do better be better and commit to making the changes in my life in order to help others make the change in themselves. It’s been a journey but I’m forever thankful.
I’ve had some high moments though where I’ve been able to take on numerous campaigns with companies, brands, and artist to fuel their vision of what they want the world to comprehend about their story and brand. I realized since my last interview with you all that all my skillsets amount to being that campaign director I guess I was always meant to be just never realized and now I’m here doing as God intended for me to do and ready to smash it this 2025!

Life is often about tough choices – can you talk to us about your thought process, strategy or philosophy when it comes to making difficult choices or tradeoffs.
Honestly you have to do what your heart tells you and I know that sounds cliche but it’s the truth. Nowadays everyone is too busy making decisions based on celebrities they admire, tv shows they watch, or whatever their favorite social media platform shows them.
These decisions don’t serve your best interest in self though. You have to take time to sit with yourself and learn what truly brings comfort and purity. Only then will you come to a real conscious decision on whether the choice your making is really meant for YOU.
