We had the good fortune of connecting with Gabriela Deantoni and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gabriela, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Definitely it has become harder to balance life and my business, but because it is my own business and I am my own boss I am able to be more flexible. Balance meaning managing everything all at once in the proper way.

What should our readers know about your business?
I would say what sets me aside from other bakers out there would be my style and my signature frosting I use for my cakes and desserts. I started as just doing it for fun and then suddenly I started getting busier and busier. It wasn’t easy at first and especially because I knew nothing about what I was doing but with practice I was able to become better in what I love most. I’ve learned that no business is easy it’s hard and requires allot of your time and focus. The time and effort I put into each order I make. I take pride in my work I do it because I love creating things and making people happy.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely take her to visit some hot spots in Houston downtown. For example discovery green is a great outdoor experience for anyone. I would also take her to try out the best seafood at Tookis . Then definitely head out to Khema broad walk . Finally finish off at Galveston beach.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family they have been my greatest supporters in every way. Have been there to help me physically, mentally and emotionally.
