We had the good fortune of connecting with Hatim Sulemanji and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hatim, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
One thing many outsiders in our industry are probably unaware of are all of the different factors that affect the process and go into place to make sure a design not only comes out looking well but also stays on the garment for a long time.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
T-Shirts Etc. West Houston is a family owned and operated business in Houston, Texas that specializes in creating custom apparel and products specializing in screen printing, embroidery, direct to garment printing, promotional products, and more. We try to be a customer service and logistics company that happens to create custom apparel and products to help our customers hit any and all of their goals.

The main thing that sets us apart from our fellow printers are our customers, we our focused on helping them hit their goals for whatever they are printing for and the garments they are printing on. All of our development, changes, etc have and will always be to fit our customer needs and do everything we can to assist. We want our customers to be able to be successful and grow their own organizations with ours. With constant trials and constant change, we are always trying new things and doing whatever we can to help make the process easier and better. As local Houstonians, we very much enjoy servicing the people in our community and all of the organizations. We get very excited when given the opportunity to help a local business start their merchandising or branding process.

There are events or things that have happened that have slowed down or changed how I have thought and do things. Many of the things I might consider obstacles or challenges are temporary and things that just happen. There are always things that go wrong at the shop from missing packages, wrong color codes being used, machines going down, etc. and are not able to be controlled.

I am most excited about all of the new possibilities and opportunities there are in the industry of custom apparel and products. First, ecommerce opens up a brand or business to many others outside of your immediate area around the country or world. The marketplace has drastically been pushed forward over the last year and a half with all of the need for fulfillment, sustainability, and more. One big push over the last few years are many of the technological advancements occurring that are changing the industry. There are many small to large print shops that have been printing for a long time and are starting to adapt and invest in small automations like motion censored lights, software’s to help handle orders, and more. All of these improvement to the industry to help focus our customers are increasing the the standard for how printers are seen in the public as people that are here to help your business or organization and not just get your shirts printed for the one time.

We are very proud of being a local Houston family owned and operated business. Since 1983, our family has enjoyed servicing our customers by helping them bring their ideas to life from a screen to a fully made product. Over the years we have continued to offer more and more services to fit all of our customers needs from transfers, DTG printing, and more. T-Shirts Etc. has been in Houston for a long time and we are looking forward to all we still have to learn and get better!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If a friend was visiting Houston, the first thing I would do is think about what time of year it is. There are always fun events and seasonal things going on in and around the city. That being said, there are a few things that I would consider must do’s when they come to the Houston area for a week long trip.

The first thing I would say we have to do is a very Houston thing to say, NASA. Anytime someone visits, this is a must visit museum and attraction. There is so much to learn about the history of the organization but it is also very fun at the same time too! They do have some areas and movies that will change but there are many aspects that are the same that they have always been. I enjoy going there every time as get a little felling of childhood nostalgia and seeing others being pleasantly surprised.

Another must for Houston is to go into downtown for a day to do things like visiting a park, walking around the streets of Houston, and end up at Franks to get a slice of pizza. As far as food, Houston has any cuisine and/or dining experience you might be looking for. As one of the most diverse cities I have ever been too, this gives the opportunity to try food from all over the world from hole in the wall mom and pop grills to Michelin star restaurants.

Houston is also a great sports city and I would always recommend going to any professional sports game depending on the season. I personally will always prefer going to a baseball game at Minute Maid Park or Constellation field. Being around other fans of the teams and experiencing the game live is something I personally really enjoy. Sports stadiums and fans are different from city to city so it is always fun to go and enjoy some food, drinks, the good energy, and a great game.

This is an amazing city full of people from all over the world with different experiences that now call it home. No matter who you are or what type of things you enjoy doing Houston has many options and things to keep you busy for the week. We are full of any event, restaurant, and/or place you might want to hang out at. As long as you are willing to drive.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The first group that immediately comes to mind is my family. Throughout the last two years I have had constant help and would not be able to get through the day without them. I am lucky to have a good amount of family living so close to me in the same city. This has given a great support group and many people I can depend on to help for advice and more. When things get overwhelming I can depend on them to help even if it makes

My family deserves the shoutout more than anyone because I would not be who I am without them.
