We had the good fortune of connecting with Ifreke Inyang and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ifreke, how do you think about risk?
One of my favorite movies to date just so happens to be Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, and the biggest reason was its theme. One exchange between Miles and deadbeat Peter Parker keeps reverberating in my head. Miles asks, “When do I know I’m Spider-Man?” and Peter responds “You won’t, that’s all it is Miles, a leap of faith.” It’s not like I never previously understood the importance of taking risks, but when that lesson and theme is presented alongside one of the most beloved and influential fictional characters of all time, it can leave a very lasting impact. I feel like I’ve suffered the consequences of being too timid and not taking risks, and I feel like pretty much everyone can relate to that

The thing I love most about modeling is how genuinely fun it is, I have a great time in almost every shoot I’ve been a part of and that’s what keeps it alive for me. The accomplishments speak for themselves, but I’m most proud of the connections I’ve made in the last several years that I’ve been active. I’ve met many successful individuals and organizations, and they’ve influenced me more positively than I can possibly quantify. Those people are the reason I’m where I am today, and I couldn’t be any more grateful. It’s genuinely exciting to think about where I’m going to go from here. There’s been plenty of ups and downs along the way, but that comes with the territory of trying to be successful at something, you can’t accomplish anything worthwhile without putting in the hard work it takes to get there. That isn’t a concept I grasped right away, I, like almost anyone else at first, thought that I could take it easy as I rode the wave, but it wasn’t until I began to practice at least a little bit of discipline that I was able to take the next strep. If I’m going to go even further, it’s going to require even more. While discipline and hard work are crucial to success in modeling (as well as anything else really), the most important thing to me is the fun that I have with the people I’m creating with, because what’s the point of doing anything creative if it doesn’t bring you joy.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Growing up in Houston, there was obviously plenty of things that I couldn’t do yet. All I could really do is live vicariously through my older siblings as they enjoyed their adult lives. Now, as an adult myself, I finally have that luxury, and the best part of that is sharing with my firends and family. I love to have a good time, so if any one of my loved ones came to visit, I’d definitely start with Turkey Leg Hut, cause theres just something about a turkey leg that falls off the bone that just does it for me. I cant say another word without throwing a shoutout to Texas Roadhouse and their absolutely legendary rolls and ribs. Finally, we can pay a visit to the various taco trucks in the area becasue rarely anyone does tacos like those hardworking owners. I’m sure you’ve noticed that the main through line here is food, and I’m sure youre wondering why. Easy, in my humble opinion, nothing brings people together like good food, throw in a drink or two and you have the makings of a great day.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

A lot of my favorite shoots or projects as a model have involved her in some way, shape, or form. I’m really grateful for the opportunities she’s thrown my way, and I look forward to every other project we work on in the future.
