Meet Irina Sednev | Worldwide brow champion, brow artist, trainer and international judge. Owner of Airen Brow Bar.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Irina Sednev and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Irina, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
What is one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with? I totally disagree with the idea that if you chose some profession, put a lot of effort into it and unhappy with your choice you need to stick to it.
I remember the day when I decided to quit a very prestigious job and start doing what I love. Almost all the people around me advised me not to do this and stay in that unloved, but a stable job. But I didn’t listen to them and did it in my way. Now I have my own business that makes not only me happy but also other people.
So always follow your desires and dreams! Never betray yourself and your wishes come true!
What habits do you feel habit your success?
I never stop! And I don’t agree with something that doesn’t make me 100% happy! I know it is sounds a bit like a cliche, regardless, just trust me! You should never sell yourself short!
What is the most important factor behind your success?
What I can certainly say that few of my top priorities are: an honest relationship with my customers, providing high quality results with top-quality products, and holding high expectations for myself and the artists I work with.
What was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to do my best to help all Women in the US feel more beautiful, confident and happier than they already should! This is what I’m hoping to achieve each day!
Risk-taking: how do you think about risk, what role has taken risks played in your life/career?
I am convinced that when you decide to start your own business, you take risks every day. At some point, it becomes an integral part of your life and even the normal thing. I can’t lie…each time when I decided to take some risk I still felt nervous and afraid. But I have understood that to grow and develop my business, taking risks is necessary!
What is the most important factor behind your success/brand success?
High-quality services, the best and safest materials with techniques from Europe, and my knowledge!
What is the most important lesson your business has taught you?
Working with people every day, I learned how to understand and accept each person on this earth. We are all very different and that is what makes us unique. Therefore, I must be able to understand what each individual desires and comply with their needs. Otherwise, there’s no way to ensure success!
Work-life balance: how has your balance changed over time? What do you think about the balance?
Oh, well, this is definitely not a question for me. I work day and night and when I’m not working with clients, I’m either changing my brow course program, learning something new, or writing my future book. So I think it will be much better to ask someone else about balance!
How did you come up with the idea for your business?
When I moved from Russia to the USA, I came across the fact that the beauty industry technique here is different than in Russia and Europe. I was so used to the European way since it creates a natural-looking appearance that I’m concentrating on, and wanted to share this with American ladies. This was the beginning of my idea to develop the beauty industry in this region.
Why did you pursue an artistic or creative career?
You know, for many years I worked in a business and an office as most people do on this planet. However, one day I told myself that I’m not going to do the job that I’m not enjoying!
It has been a long journey to find things I really love – doing eyebrows and teaching other beauty professionals how to correctly do them.
Now, being surrounded by creative personalities (bloggers, actresses, models), I gain a greater desire to inspire creativity and art, which are amazing and positive qualities to have!
What are you inspired by?
Beautiful people, nature, art, my students that follow my technique in creating healthy and natural brows, and most importantly my happy clients!!
